I-39/STH 59 Interchange and Rock River Bridge Reconstruction, Rock County, WI
OES staff are providing construction management services on this $50 million major river crossing and interchange project that is part of the I-39 corridor expansion Mega Project from the Illinois State Line to Madison. The project consists of expanding I-39 from four lanes to six lanes, constructing two large interstate bridges spanning the Rock River, constructing a new STH 59 overpass and full diamond interchange, retaining walls, noise walls, roundabouts, and numerous local road reconfigurations. The three-year complex project involves high traffic volumes and multiple construction/traffic stages. OES staff for the project include:
- Structures Leader, Assistant Project Construction Leader/Daytime Operations, and Project Erosion Control Specialist
- Nighttime Project Leader and Grading Specialist
Additional major items include local business coordination, common excavation and borrow, base aggregates, concrete and asphalt pavements, culvert pipes, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, storm sewer, signing including overhead sign bridges, fencing, lighting, ITS installations, and pavement marking.
