Mason Street (WIS 54) Interchange, Green Bay, WI
OES staff provided construction management of the $25 million project to reconstruction the Mason Street Interchange and mainline USH 41 from Ninth Street to Larsen Road in Green Bay, WI. This complex urban transportation project was completed under two phases.
OES staff provided construction oversight of the interchange project that included bridge demolition and replacement, raze and removal, grading, and the installation of three multi-lane roundabouts, concrete paving, median barrier, lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), retaining walls, storm sewer, and detention ponds. OES staff also provided construction oversight for the mainline work which includes the added work of structure replacement, box culvert and noise wall construction and landscaping.
OES staff provided verification services including inspection, reporting, records documentation, materials documentation and testing, and measurement of quantities. Both Mason Street and USH 41 mainline construction were designated by WisDOT as “expedited,” and OES staff worked on nights and weekends to accomplish the work on schedule.
