STH 83 Corridor Wetland Mitigation, East Troy, WI
OES staff developed construction plans and special provisions for an approximately 270-acre wetland restoration site. Coordinated with NRCS, WDNR, and Corps of Engineers to gain concurrence on the final design and 5-year site monitoring plan. The plan incorporated native wetland and upland plantings and significant modification of existing drainage system, which includes ditch filling, drain tile disablement, and culvert removals. Performed several post-design hydrologic assessments to assess potential impacts caused by adjacent construction activities.
OES ecologists provided oversight during construction of the mitigation site. Collected documentation (certifications, samples, and material information) for all restoration work items completed by contractor. Provided submittals to the Wisconsin DOT project manager and other WisDOT construction staff.
